I guess I am used to all other FPS'es where after playing a few rounds, you no longer "think" about what you are going to do, it becomes like instinct, and as a result the reaction time shoots through the roof, here you cannot do that and are always forced to watch as your brain out performs the animations...

Also... If starvault aims to be as realistic as they've led us to believe, mortal online will have a similar pace. M&B has similar pace as well and the combat is said to be very similar to that. Personally I hope that as well.

I don't like the pace of the combat in M&B, it's too slow to be real time combat. :P

Steam itself is free; so you can join the group at any moment; playing the games, thats another matter though

I just found out you can get the Portal: First Slice Demo for free, that also includes HL2 - Deathmatch, HL2 - Lost Coast and Peggle Extreme.
All you have to do is own an ATI or NVIDIA graphics card.

First get Steam and install it. Then click one of the following links:
For ATI
For NVIDIA

Now register an account, after that you should be prompted about that promo pack and get it registered for your Account.
It also works on already registered accounts.
