I agree with this statement.
The above structure is very nice, however it is also rather limiting, and would force group leaders to constantly relay information from below to the higher stratus, and might prove ineffective. I can't say definitively, as I haven't seen the system in action. It might be something to look into.
However, I still believe that we should gather in one channel, initially at least, with designated "Event Organizers" who are the designated speakers for the event. Members should be aware of who these people are before the event begins, and should quieten when they begin to speak.
If we want to break up into sub-channels later, we could also do that (but after the general "group" meeting).
The key is that we have semi-official speakers that can relay information to everyone, and that are recognizably in a position of temporary authority.
If we go with your system, Stump, we would be assigning hierarchical value to certain members, which might lead to tensions later with the guild's general "horizontally organized" structure.

It was copy/paste from the wikipedia description of mumble features. Lol XD
This doesn't change anything in the guild structue, but I think leaders are a must, It really makes me laugh to imagine everyone in one channel trying to decide what to do when quick thinking and decision making is needed. Hierarchy in the mumble and organisation is needed to keep it organised IMO.
And for christ sake, we are talking here about how to keep the guild organised, and if that looks like someone is taking over the leadership position or something, so be it. That's how it should be!
And as the guild structure is dynamic, then why not make channel making in the Mumble dynamic too? Give guild members rights to create such channels.

That's like a cell of officers. That's what we are actually all against. Events cell is not here to be leaders when something will be happening.

[19:43] <EDINvonSAMATH> can somone drag me into the MO ingame room on mumble?
[19:49] <[AI]Lion1978> seems nobody have enough rights right now ^^ shame on us!
[19:51] <EDINvonSAMATH> i thought necro gave you some rights...
It is annoying if you cant do anything in Mumble! Especially when nobody with enough rights is around!
VOIP Cell should think of a few mature enough people that won´t abuse their rights, so all the time somebody is around who can help out with such requests!

I still need to write down those moderation rules and then assign people but I've been so busy with university stuff and playing mortal lately. :P

Moved this thread to public, archived the other, updated this.
Yes, I know I need to be more active again.
Seems like to use some new functions of version 1.2.0 we need to purge the old user list and register everyone again after they did create a certificate.
We needed a cleanup and readjustment there anyway as the member system changed a few times, so I guess now is the perfect time to do so.
So don't wonder if your account data does not work anymore, everyone needs to get re-registered.

Hey, all!
I have a mumble server at 216.109.193.101 if AI is interested in it? Its on a dedicated pipe 45mbps.
I can give whoever needs it admin rights.
Also to anyone that likes to play Team Fortress 2 there is a dedicated server on that IP as well.
I enjoyed playing last night while MO was down, it was a blast! The server supports 32 players, it would be great if we could get some more players from AI to join during MO server downtime. The TF2 server password is aegis123.
hoping my forum name turns blue

Don't have TF2 else I might join, though at the moment we don't really need another Mumble server.
If we ever need to change or anything that would require it, I'll come back to your offer.

When joined, you have to right click your nickname and register!
this is on a dedicated server, so if you wish I could probably make it permanent if you wish to not pay for a mumble service. Just let me know.

So there ya go.
