Forum Expansion

Let me start of by saying welcome to the Aegis Imperium forums. Recently we had a little expansion of the public area. Please tell us if you like the layout and feel free to make any suggestions to make navigating the forums easier.

well, it's good to see the public sections have been expanded what with the influx of non-AI members on our forums.. anyway, i'm liking it so far.

Since I'm unable vote on the poll I would have voted Yes.

Everything seems to be in order and the expansion does seem like it was needed. If I think of anything to add down the line I will post it here.

I like it, it makes it a bit more organized and it is more likely to draw in people to hang out there who aren't part of the guild.

I like it, especially the Embassy place. Good place for guilds with any diplomatic issues or negotiations.

I think:

- the "Embassy" shouldn't say "Discussions about anything AI related" but "Introduce yourself or your guild here."

- Greetings from non-AI individuals should be in the Embassy, instead of the "shout-box" imo. (I think the shout-box should be removed actually)
That way, all greetings, threats, NAPs, War declarations, Business proposals, etc... from external individuals or guilds/clans would be in the Embassy section.

- the "General Discussions" and "Black-Hole" sections should be merged.
It's not that I think there aren't silly threads that would fit in the Black-Hole section, but I just don't see people thinking "look! I'm funny, that's why I'm posting in the Black-Hole section".
Silly topics in-between "normal" discussions put less pressure on the poster: no "Is that funny enough to be in the Black Hole section?" ^^

Serious MO-related discussions would go in the Mortal Online section. And serious AI<->non-AI related discussions would go in the Embassy (or via PM of course for sensible matters).
And that's about the only serious matters that would require their own section imo.

I'd agree with Admiral on this one. Sounds pretty reasonable.

I want the embassy to be a more serious place where questions pertaining to the guild can be answered; as such it is my belief that "Hello" threads should be kept separate unless it really asks the guild of something; in the general discussion if no where else; but NOT in the embassy, that I wont budge an inch.

The concern regarding the merging General, and off Topic is a very good point, and certainly warrants more thinking.

It's a fantastic idea. The MOFO forums are growing at an increased rate. With our presence on those forums we can only assume the activity on our public section will increase, and I am glad we are adjusting to it
