it stays fresh longer then the 1L of milk lasts, i don't use them personally though. It seems like you americans are about to get a new style jug of milk anyways.

Edit: 1L is about 4 glasses of milk.

Keeps fine. Haven't noticed a difference between keeping it like that or in a sealed container.

We have all kinds of containers for milk etc. here.
Most commonly the tetra pak in a variety of forms.



What you guys shouldn't forget is that it all depends on the kind of milk and how it got processed as well.
Keeping milk products in n cut open plastic bag though isn't really the best choice to be honest. :P
Unless you put something else around it in addition.
