Other MMO's
To bond the guild together and to have something to do until MO beta launches, I suggest we try playing a different MMO, here are a few suggestions, please feel free to suggest anything
WoW - Private server
Ragnarok Online - Private server

Re: Other MMO's
Means a "Non-Official" server, they usualy have increased rates though; some are at x2, x5, x10, x20, and there are even some "Instant 70" ones...
And yes, because it's a private database...

Re: Other MMO's
Ragnarok is alot of fun. The problem is that since Transcendents(level 99 characters that are reborn to level 1) that were realeased, the level required to be a decent character in a PvP guild has steadily incresed. It's around 70-75 at this point, from the several private servers I have been on. Since the stat bonuses for a reborn character are 1.5x that of a regualer character, By the time they reach level 50, they can take out level 70 non-reborn in a heart beat. You are looking at assasins with 100% crit rates at level 70 that are throughing 100 hits a minute, Dex focuss Wizards and sages that can 1-hit anyone within 10 levels of them. A Crusader that can use sacrafice(you recive any damage the target recives insead of them) for 5 squishy types and be pretty comfortable with 20 people barring down on them at once.
You are looking at one man forces of nature that can take out half a dozen others before they can be properly attacked. The main problem here is that these people have been playing awahile and have thier guilds. They gruoup up into guilds full of these people and can hold a castle against a whole alliance with ease.
If you can find a private server with Trancendents off, I will be there. Otherwise, I honestly don't suggest bothering if you ever wanna get into PvP.

Re: Other MMO's
I am leaning more towards Ragnarok. I don't think we as a guild will stay long enough to experience castle warfare, but the servers I am looking at are anywhere from 5 to 100 times the normal rate, so we will level up pretty quickly, so that is not an issue.
This is more of an activity that we as an entire guild can do.

Re: Other MMO's
Hmm, I suppose. I have a bit of knowledge on most classes, so I could help people figure out builds. A quick run down on stats I rembember:
-Wizards and Sages are both 3/2 Dex/Int until Dex is maxxed, then Int dump. The added Dex increses cast speed up to double speed at max.
-Assasins should go Luck/Agi. You can only max one if I rember correctly, and it's up to you which one to do. Luck is great for criticles and lucky one hit kills(the latter of which is like 5% at max). I think one hitters are turned off in WoEs, though. The added agi makes you attack faster(by 99 agi, your attack animations blur together into a solid stream) and dodging better. Some add dex or strength, but most say it is pointless. Never attack a crusader or knight. Thier armor is so high you will be doing 1s them with ever hit. Their regen with good Con is faster than the damage you will do.
-The ranged classes need Dex maxxed for accuracy and damage. Some like agi as your other stat, some prefer luck. I don't rember which is actually better.
-Blacksmiths and Alchamists are mostly non-combat, though they can learn such skills at the sacrifice of actually being good at wepons and potions, but then its just better to go with other classes if you want that. One thing though, there are some good homunculous that Alchamists can make. I forget what they all are though. You can only choose one to make and will never be able to learn the other 2. They are a special skill that there is only 1 level to that you learn as a result of a class quest. Some say they are good in PvP, and that Potion Toss(up to 50% added effect of thrown potions) make alchamists with deep pockets good healers as well. No idea what a stat build for weither of these would be, as most dont even worry about it.
-Crusaders are the tank. Max Con. You also get a skill called sacrifice, which will let you take the damage that your allies(upto 5) would take from hits. Keep in mind, that is damage THEY would take. If something would hit you for 1 but a mage for 80, you will take the 80. Int is also important as Sacrifice eats away at mana slowly. This is the only build that makes this class worth having in PvP(at least until they become thier transcendent form which gains some decent holy damage magic attacks). A side note: Getting them to learn heal level 10 will take about half the skill points you will get, as there are a shit ton of prequiste skills for them to get to it. Dont bother. Focus on any buffs you get, Sacrafice, and undead bane which is good for killing the undead in PvE.
-Knights I rember nothing about except the amazing and frightnign for a mage ablity they get called magnum break. Godd Physical fire damage as an AoE around them. If it hits 2 or 3 Wizards/sages or Priests connected to a sacraficing Crusader, it will take the the Crusader out as a sure thing since it will be a massive flood a damage all at once.
Thats all I remember fro my time in RO.

Re: Other MMO's
I remember playing RO on a few private servers,
and even played WoW on a private server, VCN elite: http://vcnelite.com/
But I wouldn't suggest we all hop on VCN, as it is currently unstable.
To be honest, I would lean more towards a private WoW server, in RO I would get killed with the "plusing" up my weapons, and getting the cards for the weapons would be ridicerous =P.
WoW is basically "plug&play", lol.

Which is one of my main reasons I don't like it... very little work or need for craftors or a real economy.

Re: Other MMO's
I thought the goal was for something recreational to get us working as a team? In WoW we could do BGs, in RO, there is nothing but working towards getting strong enough to work towards castle seige, even in those private servers, the best cards to add to your weapons are pretty rare.
I'll also suggest Requiem: Bloodymare, it even has a jump feature! And something similar to a groupvgroup arena thingamajig =). (It's a F2P MMO)
