Default Ultima in WoW

I haven't had the chance to try this just yet but I will be soon and figured I would mention it:

Ultima in WoW

http://www.theregulators.org:8080/index.php

Hawthorne of The Regulators decided to run a free shard with Ultima type rules of Free Loots and FFA PvP. It is WotLK enabled and has increased xp which is a bonus so it won't take you forever to level.

Everyone says it is running pretty stable so I'll be looking into it once DFO finishes patching >.<

It seems interesting, but aren't these type of free servers breaching WoW's intellectual property rights? Unless they've licensed the engine from Blizzard, I sense a cease and desist being let loose from Bliz HQ.

Well, Blizz can't offer that kind of experience so I don't see a moral problem with that, especially when they have 12 mil subs without us. The idea is quite interesting, id be willing to look into it.

Remembering the times when I played WoW on private server, we would form raid groups(PvP) and kill everyone in sight, that would get even more exciting with ffa ruleset. Now If they could implement take over of the cities..

if wow would bring back real world pvp i would be more interested in playing the most fun i had in that game was wiping 40 man raids with 6 of us this was back in mc days. and the 6 of us had warlord gear/weapons. now if wow had a ffa server i would be all over it.

Eh, looting in a game like WoW wouldn't work. In that kinda game, it can take hours upon hours to get your sword, then some one comes and kills you when you happen to be damaged from an average mob. That sort of thing only works in games like UO, and what MO will be, where a sword is a sword, and while a very high quality sword can be expensive, you can just run to town and look for a blacksmith player who would be willing to make you one. Might take you an hour to hunt one down and find the best price, but at least you didn't lose a week of your life to poor luck and bad rolls in raids.

Should read the website before you discredit the idea..They have taken all of that into account.

Even though I don't know if we should discuss not so legal stuff in our public area.
