Savage2
Alright, so it was my bad yesterday in misenterpretting the website for Savage2. Savage2 is -completely- free as of Decemeber 2nd. When you purchase, as through steam, you purchase a 'prime' account. Basically one that will always track your stats, give you extra item slots, and let you summon the hellbourne more than once per map.
Download link:
Savage 2 - A Tortured Soul
For anyone interested and for Shinzon mainly if he really wants it 'official'.
Here's the link so that we can set up our guild as a Savage2 Clan.
SCL - Savage 2 Clan League

Yeah, those who don't have it should definitely get it, and come on mumble too!
It'll be a lot of fun playing with a lot of you guys on savage 2. Looking forward to it!

I tried it out a bit today, and while the overall idea of the game is pretty interesting, the actual gameplay is a bit crappy. Fighting is very messy at best. Maybe I'll give it another go.

Fighting 1 on 1 is not really what it tries to do. It's the team level fights that you have to worry about, where there are just more than one person; all with different abilities.
If you get a good commander as well; that can be a pain if you are playing against him; as a good commander can move the entire team foward; planning multiple attacks.
So I would say Savage and Savage 2 are a step upwards in abstraction from AoC; where it's only what each member does; here, it's what the commander does.

I tried this game yesterday and today, and must say that it's incredibly fun and tactical. At first it does feel messy, but when you get used to it and start to understand most things it gets more fun. And yes without good commanding and player organisation your team is doomed.
Maybe we could give it a shot and organize a clan there? All we need is one person who actually bought the game .

Since it doesn't cost me anything but my time, I'm perfectly willing to do that Playing as a team is completely different anyways, even if you have a crappy game.

Downloaded, installed, not yet tested, willing to play, go ahead and set an event
Btw, why do we need someone who bought the game to start a clan?

Unomat, its one of the advantages of "prime" account. Along with unlimited hellbournes, individual statistics, access to replay etc.
