Seriously, I have no idea off what are youtalking here about. I only tried playing EVE in that 14 days trial, and I barely got a touch on the game... Though it perfectly fits the description of the game, Shinzon would want. I seriously sometimes think, that he created guild on the wrong game, and he should bep laying EVE now instead ;D

I don't think so. If Shin talks about Battlestar Galactica, EvE would be quite a delusion for him. Maybe he could have had fun in the very first release, but now, with bonuses, forced setups, an end game that makes you entombed in an hell of a titan and stuff like that is darn boring.

You've been playing it longer so you always had that freedom before. But I'm used to the more confined setup strategies and was really fine with them.

The Gallentians, IMO had the most interesting ship setups.

Minmatar were always the most interesting for me though.

Especially the the Megathron, blasterthron, sniperthron, throw some ECM on it, you could even add some drones to it.

Heh...I do still have a Scorpion in Serpentis Prime, as memento of a campaign against old FA.
And guess what? Has laser beam turret on it (at the beginning missile were so crappy that nobody really even bothered to use them)

But that's not the lack of freedom -per se- that made me grow bored of eve. Wasn't even the darn neverending time in fleet waiting for an hotdrop or the absolutely insane sov system ("ehi guys, we got that pos in reinforced mode, guess what? It will come out tomorrow,*exactly* at 04.30 in the morning")

No, was the perspective to end up entombed in a friggin' titan (hey, keep a close eye on that ship while we go roaming around, buhbye") and the classic "who cares how much it'll cost, lets go get 100 timecard and sell them out for isk" that made my balls fall down the floor.

Yeah but RMT can only go so far sometimes. Especially for titans and what not. It's a good isk infusion, but it doesn't solve long term cash flow problems (if you're having them).

I never wanted to be entombed in a titan either. At least the titan should be able to be external docked at a POS.

Anyways are you still playing? And if so how is the new Sov system working?

Technically speaking the entire alliance warfare system was based on getting a hold on rich regions: a corp o alliance thrown out had to relocate or get back to empire to recover, today you can buy RTC and get back on your feet in a moment and with almost no effort. This isn't EvE: is whack-a-mole revamped

The lack of surprise played also a major role (when you can foresee the outcome of a fight just knowing the enemy fleet's composition the game is annoying)

And no, not playing anymore, quit playing like 2 years ago, for a while I just kept my toon skilled (had roughly 90+ million skillpoints) but then I got "meh" and suspended the account.

As I said previously if EvE Online was based on twich combat instead of point and click, I would be playing it. However none of it is twich and I will damn myself to hell if someone can fly a spaceship better because they have been skilling their char up longer.

You would love flying HACs in EvE. It's not exactly twitch based, but you have to micro-manage your ship very well to be successful.

I wish it was twitch based as well, but that's just not how it is.

Infinity universe: The game is still in development. It has not even reached Beta yet.
