Default Dust 514

I've read a couple of articles and this game is coming out called "DUST 514", developed by the makers of EvE Online, CCP. It sounds unique and interesting in that it's a console MMOFPS (currently exclusive, possibly released on PC eventually) that directly affects the space environment of EvE Online. I'm not entirely sure to what scale, but you can read the article. Needless to say it sounds exciting, original, and I'm not sure how many ways it can go right, but I can think of several ways it can go wrong. I hope they pull this off, because it sounds awesome.

Its going to require Eve corps to hire merc guilds in DUST to conquer planets for them. And then merc guilds get payed by supplies and vehicles and stuff that can be crafted in eve.

So the games are interconnected.. to be a successful corp in eve you will HAVE to have a merc ally in DUST
and the same with DUST players needing Eve corp funding.

most Eve players are pretty mad about this.. They dont want to rely on console FPS gamers to conquer planets and think it should just be a part of eve.

I for one think it sounds f'n awsome. If they don't want to rely on them, maybe they should get a damn console themselves, lol.

People that are hardcore against consoles like that are ridiculous, its a game, just a different way of playing it, get over it, heh.

Nothing against consoles, but I do hate that it is console exclusive. I'd rather buy a new video card/CPU than an Xbox360 that's going to die every week.

Xboxs are actually assured not to redring anymore if you bought them after Jan this year. They have a lifetime warranty on them now for repair or some crap. PS3s are still POS though. Those things break from everything. I have had three replaced and sold my last one from lack of use lol.

Thing is, I did have a 360 at one point in time. Bought it from Buy.com. When I turned the thing on I got the welcome screen, checked all the options, made my account, and then it red-ringed. I contacted Buy.com and returned it in the 30 day window.

So it's not like my hesitation to buy another one is unfounded. I'd rather just buy it for the PC, which I know works.

The red ring problem is barely around anymore since the new console upgrades with smaller chips etc.
