Thor had an extra copy of HL2 he got with orange box, since he already had HL2, so he offered it up in IRCm and I managed to grab it. Yay, right? No.

Played AoChiv for a couple hours now, and have come to a conclusion: It is just not fucking playable with my conection. 200 latency was about average, with most times over 250, and at worst 400+. I got a few minutes with 30-40, but only minutes. Two minutes later, I was up to 120, and another couple minutes above 200. It was just fucking ridiculous. It pisses me off, because I was looking forward to play with you all. It pisses me off even more because if that is how a simple FPS on the idea runs on my computer/connection, how the hell will it act in MO?

The game looks like it could be fun, but, for fucks sake, it was a crapshoot for me. I ended up using a flail knight because with as wide of an area as it attacks, I figured I could hit SOMEthing, even with the crap I was getting, but 8 kills and 4 assists was the highest I got for a game, and that was with 30 something deaths.

That's better than I'm doing on average ^^ Then again, it was almost 5 years ago I last played an FPS, so it's taking some getting used to the twitch game again (cheers for the pointers, LightsabeR!).

Kaoy, AoC just has bad coding. The game becomes ridiculous when you go over 150 ping You just need to find a server that's closer to your home country.

And yeah... hopefully MO won't suffer from high pings this badly.

That is comforting, at least, but it is pretty annoying. I'm the stratagy type of players, so I like to get one or 2 on thier own and attack, but I will think I have one following me, to realise they are actually on my side because they just all of a sudden go Flash on my ass as everything begins to catch up with eachother.

I had great fun with LightsabeR, catmorbid, Necromantic and Kaoy last night, with the highlight of the evening a record breaking attempt to free the prince! Pity you couldn't tear yourself away from Left 4 Dead, Shinzon

And I'm glad to notice my performance at my second attempt to play the game had really improved; there's still some hope for teaching this old dog some new tricks ^^
